Getting started

Selection Translate: select text in any app and press ⌃⌘Z. The app hands the text to Ponte through the macOS service “Translate with Ponte”, also in the app menu → Services. To change the shortcut: System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts → Services → Text → Translate with Ponte.
Copied Text Translate: if an app doesn’t pass on its selection, copy the text with ⌘C and press ⌃⌥⌘Z (change it in Ponte Settings → General).
Quick Translate: press ⌃⌘C (change it in Ponte Settings → General).
Screen Region Translate: press ⌃⌘X and drag over any area of the screen. Requires Screen Recording permission.

Free local models

Install Ollama, download a model (for example ollama pull llama3.2), then choose Local Model (Free) in Ponte Settings → Provider and pick the model.

Ponte Premium

Cloud translation with no setup, billed monthly or yearly through the App Store.
To restore a purchase on a new Mac: Ponte Settings → Provider → Restore Purchases.
To cancel: System Settings → your Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

Privacy, terms, and refunds
